Business Process Consultant/Senior Consultant — Quality & Risk Management (Advisory & Consulting)

Join our dynamic Quality & Risk Management (QRM) function for a global leader in professional services. As a Business Process Consultant within our Advisory, Implement & Operate disciplines, you will design, refine, and govern end-to-end business processes that support high-quality delivery, risk mitigation, and compliant operating standards. This role is within the internal QRM team, offering the opportunity to shape process frameworks, embed practical controls, and work closely with engagement teams across business teams.

What you will do

  • Process discovery and documentation
    • Lead workshops to capture current-state processes and design future-state models using agreed methods.
    • Create SOPs, RACI matrices, process maps, and control narratives that are clear, actionable, and maintainable.
  • Governance frameworks
    • Develop and refine process governance, key points, and delivery playbooks for Operate services.
    • Provide guidance and checkpoints to see that teams adhere to agreed policies, risk protocols, and engagement terms.
  • Risk and controls
    • Identify process risks, control gaps, and failure points; propose mitigation actions aligned with business objectives.
    • Embed risk-based controls into procedures, tooling, and ways of working; support effective evidence capture.
  • Quality and compliance
    • Support alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and operational SLAs.
    • Conduct periodic reviews and evaluations of process adherence, deliverables, and compliance documentation.
  • Metrics and performance management
    • Define KPIs such as SLA adherence, cycle time, defect escape rate, control pass rate, and evidence completeness; design dashboards and reports in Power BI or similar.
    • Analyze performance data to pinpoint bottlenecks and recommend improvements with measurable outcomes.
  • Continuous improvement
    • Drive standardization, simplification, and service consistency across engagements.
  • Stakeholder collaboration
    • Collaborate with engagement leaders, delivery teams, Operations, and Legal/Compliance to co-create process solutions and address risk concerns.
    • Facilitate decision-making and alignment across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Training and enablement
    • Develop playbooks, templates, and training materials; coach teams on process methods, risk awareness, and governance practices.
    • Take reasonable steps to support adoption and sustained process discipline.

What about you

Professional experience

  • Experience bands
    • Consultant: 2–4 years in process improvement/QRM or managed services.
    • Senior Consultant: 4–6 years, with experience facilitating workshops and leading governance initiatives.
    • Ideally, experience in business process consulting, process improvement, or quality/risk roles within a Big Four or comparable professional services environment.
  • Hands-on experience with process mapping (BPMN), RACI, control design, and governance in consulting and/or managed services contexts.

Academic background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Accounting, Information Systems, Risk Management, or a related field.

Key skills

  • Strong knowledge of policy frameworks, industry standards, and risk protocols relevant to consulting and managed service engagements.
  • Proven ability to assess process risks and implement practical mitigation strategies while supporting high-quality operational outcomes.
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization; experience with tools such as Excel or Power BI; comfortable conducting reviews and evaluations.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with a solution-oriented mindset and experience driving continuous improvement.
