Your future team

The regulatory landscape around corporate sustainability is evolving at an unprecedented pace, placing ESG reporting quality and independent assurance at the heart of investor and stakeholder confidence.

Deloitte Luxembourg’s Audit & Assurance practice is growing its Sustainability & Specialized Assurance team to help organizations navigate, manage and report on their sustainability performance with quality and rigor. Our clients span financial services, corporate and industrial sectors, as well as public and international organizations.

As a Trainee in the ESG Assurance team, you will join a group of dedicated professionals working at the forefront of European sustainability regulation and reporting. Following an initial training period, you will be involved in client engagements, gaining practical exposure to ESG assurance methodology and developing a strong technical foundation in one of the most sought-after areas of professional services today. Strong performers may be considered for a permanent opportunity upon completion of the internship.

The advantages of joining us

- Gain meaningful, hands-on experience in one of the fastest-growing and high-impact areas of professional services
- Work alongside recognized ESG and assurance specialists in an innovative, purpose-driven team
- Benefit from structured mentoring, continuous feedback and Deloitte’s world-class learning ecosystem, including tailored sustainability and professional development programmes
- Contribute to engagements that shape how organizations report on and are held accountable for their sustainability impact
- Thrive in an inclusive, multicultural environment where diverse perspectives fuel innovation and collaboration

How you’ll contribute to our success

- Support ESG assurance engagements on sustainability disclosures prepared under CSRD/ESRS, SFDR and EU Taxonomy, progressively applying Deloitte’s ESG assurance methodology (ISAE 3000 – ISSA 5000) under the supervision of more experienced colleagues
- Perform substantive testing of ESG metrics (e.g., GHG emissions, energy and water consumption, workforce data and EU Taxonomy KPIs), helping to assess data quality, challenge reporting approaches and evaluate underlying assumptions
- Contribute to the preparation of working papers, management letters and client-facing presentations, ensuring procedures, findings and conclusions are documented clearly and accurately
- Assist with regulatory research and market intelligence by tracking developments in CSRD, SFDR 2.0, EU Taxonomy and related frameworks, and by contributing to internal notes and market studies
- Play an active role in team life and cross-functional engagements within the wider Audit & Assurance practice, supporting internal projects and knowledge-sharing initiatives

- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to work with both quantitative and qualitative information
- Good command of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and curiosity toward digital tools, data analytics and AI-enabled solutions

Nice to have

- Prior academic or professional exposure to sustainability reporting, ESG data analysis or audit
