Senior accounting and reporting advisory - Alternative investments

Your future team

We are looking for individuals to join our dynamic team in our Assurance Services business in Luxembourg. The Assurance business forms part of our wider Audit and Assurance function, and due to our exciting growth potential we want to employ people who have a passion for finance, accounting and regulatory matters in the investment manager domain and a strong entrepreneurial spirit.

You will apply core finance, accounting and regulatory knowledge in providing clients with assurance and insight across their technical accounting and regulatory needs. Our projects, which span a wide range of industries but primarily in the Alternative Investments include:

• Delivering projects to help our clients addressing their most pressing and/or complex challenges
• Provide practical and technical accounting solutions around complex accounting topics like carried interests under IFRS and Lux GAAP.
• Assist client to understand the regulatory landscape for Alternative investment fund managers in Luxembourg and perform gap analysis.
• Improve the effectiveness and performance of finance and compliance functions by reviewing client reporting processes to investors and regulator and assisting with the implementation of best practices

Your next challenge

• Lead the successful planning and execution of projects
• Effectively coach, mentor and develop junior members of the engagement team
• Contributes to the growth of the team by creating a talent experience that attracts, develops and retains talents
• Build strong client relationships, internal networks and play a significant part in new business proposals
• Collaborate effectively across Deloitte functions to deliver on client needs
• Develop and lead timely communications - both internal and external - relevant to our professionals and client
• Develop materials for and participate in the delivery of presentations to clients
• Drive market and eminence initiatives, including development of new service offerings and marketing campaigns within the practice
• Displays a keen interest in industry trends and is able to identify opportunities

Your skills

• Be in progress of completion of a professional qualification (IRE, ACCA, CPA, or other)
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience within audit in a Big4 in Luxembourg or 3-4 years within the asset management sector (Fund Administration, Management Companies, AIFMs)
• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills with the ability to develop strong client relationships
• Expertise of specific regulatory requirements in the Alternative Investments Industry
• Display proven knowledge in IFRS and Lux GAAP, any other accounting standards are considered an asset
• Sound understanding of industry specific regulatory requirements
• An experience in an Alternative Investment Fund Manager would be an asset
• Strong operational skills - Ability to translate the “what is required” into the “how it’s done”
• Problem solving  - Ability to “find it” and “fix it”
• Working knowledge of finance and accounting systems would be an asset
• Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities
• Should be able to communicate effectively in English. Working in French or German is considered as an asset.
